Glendalough and Wicklow Mountains |2016

It is that time of the year when I want so bad to go on a trip.

We haven’t gone anywhere for quite a while, and to be honest, even 1 hour trip with a 6 months old seems like way too long. The last trips we have taken were last year, while I was still pregnant. We’ve gone to co. Wicklow and co. Kerry, Kenmare. Before that we made a trip to Achill Island. It was our second trip there, but that last time I sadly forgot the memory cards for my camera and had to take pictures on my phone. Sorry Apple, but iPhones are quite poor in picture quality! You should work harder on that iSight technology of yours!

The trip to Wicklow took place in mid-April. It was still cold and nothing was in bloom, except the Broom bushes that I like so much for their bright yellow colour. Nothing I associate with Ireland as much as Broom and Gorse that are spread all over the country.

Here are some landscapes of the Wicklow Mountains and Glendalough.

Just to add, if you plan a trip to Glendalough, you should probably go off season. One particularly cloudy (and rainy) Monday in April we couldn’t even get to the carpark becauseĀ the queue of cars was so long that it was pointless to waste so much time. We managed to get there relatively quick on Tuesday though. I can’t even imagine what it is like in summer, especially the weekends.
